The Grand Isle Police Department is working with JPSO, state police, and several other law enforcement agencies to patrol the island. There is a strong police presence on Grand Isle.
With that being said, agencies are investigating any thefts on the island during this storm. If anyone has any information about stolen items or any other crime, call the Grand Isle Police Dept Non-Emergency line at 757-212-3316 to provide information. It will be investigated. Anyone caught looting during a state of emergency will be persecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

As a reminder, Hurricane Ida has caused much damage on the island. The winds from this storm were powerful and household items are scattered. Please be sure to look carefully around your neighborhood before calling the police regarding stolen items.
