The Jefferson Parish Water District has been working to restore water in our area. Now that the field survey is complete, agencies found that 2 of the substations supplying water from Lafitte to Grand Isle have been damaged. Contractors have been dispatched to complete repairs.
We expect a few days delay in restoring our water system due to the extent of the damages.
In the meantime, we have 2 barges of water being filled to supply the island with household water until the main lines can be fixed. We hope to have temporary water to Grand Isle in the next few days.
**This water supply is ONLY for household use. We are under a boil water advisory until further notice. WE MUST CONSERVE OUR WATER. Please do not use water to clean outside areas or vehicles.**
